Dun feel like blogging actually.

Now feeling less stressed, ever since VP Mr Low said that Sec 3 Subj Comb will depend on SA2 raw score, meaning those in CA2, SA1, etc will not be counted unless I appeal.

This also means that I need a 65.0% for every subject, including English.

Kinda late to blog now. Maybe going to make this post quite short. Just finished my revision for the day.

New teacher for English - Mrs Low, former TJC and RI teacher who is better than Mrs Theresa Goh (got her first name from Rayson =P). At least she teaches, and the last 2 lessons we had was spent on formal letter writing. Not the format but the contents, like this redevelopment fund for VS. She talks a lot. Haha. This old hag resembles a bit like Ms Neo, but more active and likes to wear sleeveless! Oh yeah today she wore this dress that has a cut showing off her legs!

Ms Leow took over for Science. Very very productive lessons because the 3rd module teacher (i.e: Ms Yeo) is supposed to teach us SPA* and Ms Leow just went through 'briefly' with us. She taught us what's dependent and independent variables and stuffs like that and asked us to plot this graph. Then I had a query as to whether lines should be drawn using a flexible curve or not, and then there was this debate (I won't call it discussion) between mainly Peng Ho and Ms Leow. Heard that he went to see Ms Lim (Maths teacher) after school and he was proven wrong. Can tell that he felt very humiliated.

Well the 2nd lesson (yesterday) was on the SPA again, then after that this short "mock exam" like what Ms Leow called. I would prefer to call it a 'worksheet' or maybe 'notes' because there was this question like this:

[cell wall of a root hair cell drawn] Label the cell wall (duh, there's only the cell wall). Do not use arrowheads.

Cool right? And when we were like doing the worksheet, she told us to label it by drawing the line from the cell wall to the outside and not from the outside to the root hair cell, because the line may not touch the cell wall due to the obstruction of our hand. Very trival right?

Yeah and she spent the rest of the lesson going through the so-called mock exam. It was like 2 pages btw and it only covers 1 chapter - Diffusion & Osmosis.

Then today was on Human Digestion. So she didn't do many chapters. By the way she gave us this 'mock exam' again, which is around the same as yesterday's one. She was like going through other stuffs of the biology which is not in the worksheet.. and she was like telling us this: "The bile emulsifies large drops into smaller drops, the oil." Very nice English used. Her favourite 2 phrases are.. "cambridge standard" (she actually mentioned it on Tuesday and said, "Yeah, Cambridge standard again") and when someone asks her a question, she would ask "Have I answered your question?".

Had a chemistry class test yesterday. It was not too difficult, just that it was a bit tricky. Because it was taken after the last lesson (and Ms Yeo came late), Wayne tried to persuade her into changing the date but to no avail.

Oh next week would be "chicken-man" Mr Ng, teaching us Physics.

Had a "short" comm meeting on Tuesday and it lasted for nearly an hr when it was supposed to be 15 minutes. Well it's about having the end-of-yr camp or not. Well I should not disclose the information though. Going to have another "short" meeting tomorrow.

Stayed back to finish up on our D&T on Wednesday, and also on Thursday (makes no difference actually, the last lesson on Thur was D&T). Peng Ho went to screw up everything. Yesterday he painted the vehicle brown, trying to make it look like copper, but in the end, it looked like rusted metal. Or maybe it was worse, just didn't want to use vulgarities here. In the end, the wheels can't move, so we had to drill on the holes again and tried to undo Peng Ho's destruction. Today we also repainted it until it looks like as if it's being camouflage but it was very ugly. Also, we had to change the "cannon" because it couldn't work at all. Took a few quick snaps of the vehicle (brought my digicam to school) then had to put the vehicle into our school locker - Mr Chan didn't allow us to use the D&T one.

Oh yeah, just now Peng Ho called me and told me that he wanted to paint it using spray-paint. He told me Junzhe wanted it black while he wanted it red. So I said black as well since red 1) won't make it look copper-ish; and 2) black would make it look more cool (as compared to red). Black would make it look like charcoal anyway.

Just had a 60-minute Chinese test today. 2 comprehensions and 10 han4 zi4. Fell asleep (as in really fell asleep) for the last 10 minutes. Too sleepy already. I think I can only get like 40/55 lah.

Oh. Something happened last night.

Went to sleep at around 12. Was surprisingly sleepy. Woke up suddenly and saw my handphone clock as 4am and alarm clock as 1am. I was very sure that I wasn't dreaming because I could feel myself getting up and setting back my alarm clock, thinking that my handphone clock should be correct since it is electronic. Felt very energetic. So I tried to go back to sleep. Woke up after my alarm clock rang. Then checked my handphone clock (it was supposed to ring as well) and realised that the time has reversed to 1am!! I had better check the clock outside my room. Found out that is was 2am in the morning and so, I set both clocks to 2am, and went back to sleep.

I am very sure that I wasn't dreaming. Very very sure. When I went to school this morning, I checked my handphone clock: it was correct, maybe 1 or 2 minutes off. The date? 23/09/05. One day faster. Maybe it was because when I set the time, the date somehow changed. But it isn't possible as I did not change the time to let's say 11.59pm. If I did, then the date will change as it strikes past midnight. I have no idea what actually happened.

Oh by the way, before the "time incident", when I was asleep, I felt myself being hugged by someone. No it wasn't the comfort kind of hug, it was kind of frightening. I tried to move myself but I was kind of stuck on my bed. I could only move my fingers a little and my eyelids [there was actually no one in my room], but I can't move my arms, legs, whole body, etc.

I think I better go and sleep before midnight. No lah. Feeling kind of sleepy now. Almost couldn't wake up this morning. Haha.. Bye.

*SPA: Science Practical Assessment. Ms Leow actually pronounced it as "spa". It constitutes 10% of the SA2 paper (30% bio, 30% phy and 30% chem), and the paper is 80% of SA2 alone (with 10% being the class test taken yesterday and 10% being homework marks).

3 weeks to exam.

And I am still slacking as usual. Aiya. Last Monday dunno why the atmosphere (in the parade square during morning assembly) was so dead. I mean like suddenly SOOO dead =\. No idea, just felt awkward singing on stage though. Well anyway got back our report cards on that day already. Can't believe it sia English B4, Chinese/Lit B3 and the others all A1... I mean like if I take out my 3 languages den my average would have shot up by over 10 marks liao -.-. Okay it's kinda impossible to score an average of about 90 marks lol. Need to buck up for my English already, though it looks like it's too late.

Anyway, there were many people absent on Tuesday. As a result, many people changed places. You can admire the seating arrangement during Maths lesson: [yeah I changed place too :P]

Ok, bad news and good news. Bad news - Mr Ikhwan isn't gonna teach us until after exams, which is very very meaningless. Good news - Mrs Goh is leaving next week and another relief teacher is taking us. Whoa wth. Teachers changing here and there.. From sec 1 onwards there had already been 7 changing of teachers - Mrs Poon (initially), Mrs Quintal, Mr Lee KS, Mr Ee, Mr Daniel Tan, Ms Seema, Mrs Goh, and now this new one. How to score well in English like that? Forgot to mention that someone remarked our paper. Some people have +6, some maybe more. For me, I have a +½. Sounds cool huh? From 12.5 [rounded off = 13] to 13. Meaning it makes no difference at all. Ergh, better luck next time.

So Literature this term is about unseen poems. Some of them were already taught by Mrs Quintal last yr, but seriously it is gd that Mr Siow is re-teaching us. Lost a green pen and ruler during D&T lesson on Thursday. Cuz D&T is our last period, den after that many people came to the lab and did their work too, den I think someone took a pen or something. Argh crap.

Aim for SA2:
English - A2
Chinese - A2
Maths - A1
Science - A1
Literature - B3
D&T - A1
History - B3

Combined score:
English - B3
Chinese - A2
Maths - A1
Science - A1
Literature - B3
D&T - A2
History - A2
Geography - A2
Art - A1
Homec - A2

Wish me best of luck. :P

So fast 1 week already.. and I haven't even finished my homework! OMG. Kinda.. now doing but got bored and got distracted by many stuffs like my email. Well left only Literature essay if you're wondering... I can't seem to think of what to write.

Anyway. I hate history. Even though I score "quite well" for CA2.. but that was luck. It was only 3 chapters. But I guess I really want to change my mind and take history instead of geography... I dunno lah. Geography sounds interesting but geog elect is not about volcanoes, tsunamis, earthquakes and mountains. That I know actually, but I didn't know that there will be agriculture, tourism, development of countries etc (~ quoted from Eujinn's blog). Lol.... changed my mind but if cannot change the form given to Principal, then I guess I have to stick with Geography.

Well actually I shouldn't have thrown away the Social Studies books learnt in p5/p6 and taught by Ms Neo.. lol.... can remember there was some stuffs on Singapore History and stuffs which can help in my history now!! I mean like last time Ms Neo was like teaching AFTER PSLE and I was like day-dreaming and falling asleep in class... or maybe flirting with girls in front (jkjk). Now I regret it cuz I find HISTORY TOO HARD!

Maybe I promised for a post about co-ed or not co-ed... What I think is.. why should VS turn co-ed? Are you sure that by allowing girls to enter, the standard will rise? If people know that it is because of this reason, will they let their daughters enter the school? Why not let them enter a school with better education. One day Principal asked whether we enter this school beacuse it's a boys' school or because it's a good boys' school. Maybe we can change the question to whether it's because it's a boys' school or a good school. If it's because it's a good school.. why not choose Anglican High, for example, which has around the same standard as us... If VS becomes co-ed, how do you answer to those who came because it's a boys' school?

As for nurturing boys into men (against co-ed), all these stuffs you all can get from other sources, so I dun need to explain alrdy.

Comments? Tagboard is below (or above if this post become outdated). Now I gotta go and continue by Lit essay. Cya.

Something I forgot to blog about in the last post - my birthday.

Well thanks to those who had wished me 'happy birthday' and also those who wished me a few days later.

If u have come to my blog on that day you would know that it's my birthday cuz you would see this:

And when you hover over it:

Surprise? Lol.

You missed it anyway.

Okay anyway.. Wednesday was teachers' day celebration. Almost the whole concert was rock music. Very boring. Den went to tps with Sean & Robin & Timothy... blah blah. First person I saw was Bertrand. Didn't change much hor? Den went to see Mrs Chong and Ms Neo... den went to have lunch. So long never eat the food alrdy haha.

Didn't play soccer though. Woon Yang got some NJRC presentation and Isaac was sick. So too bad. Sean came to my house to do the Science mini-proj and messed the place with red cabbage. Haha... but anyway the experiment was quite gd except for the shampoo and conditioner which had no change in colour.. or maybe we can't see..

Blah blah.

Friday was kinda slack.. Maths lesson got taken over (part of it lah) by some announcements all those... den PE play soccer. After recess was Music which we just bang on the keyboards which were used during sectionals =\. Den 3 free periods of English. Mrs Goh at first say wanna teach (she told a few of us only lah) den dunno why nv teach. Hah!

Then today. Today's saturday right? Went to NYGH for the Maths Olympiad prize presentation... reached there quite early - 8.30am. Enthu sia me. Haha. Den blah blah. Junior team got 5th in place ($200) and I got 16th for individual ($50. Big diff). Not bad cuz got this sec 4 guy from my school got 8th in individual. NUSHS very what lor. Cuz this is their first competition.. den only got sec 1s and 3s den junior they got 4th and senior they got 16th. But their uniform look very .. ... .. ... ......

Oh btw. Wanna talk abt the maths proj festival. Last yr got this guy talk about the generalised tic-tac-toe problem.. den this yr another guy talked about the extended tic-tac-toe prob - rows of N. Conclusion: HCI's fav game is tic tac toe =P. That guy also created a tic-tac-toe game played in MS-DOS.

The senior one nicer.. they talk about whether roulette is a fair game or not.. Roulette is the one that has numbers 1 to 36 and also 0 and 00... den spin this thing den drop the ball den wherever the ball lands then thats the winning number.. den they like having this skit.. one guy gives a method den the 2nd proves it wrong... They got what method... The Martingale and The Grand Martingale. Aiya...

Den nothing much. So sad.. the Maths Olympiad solutions book sold out... so didn't buy... as in, couldn't buy.

This whole holiday gonna slack liao. So expect lesser posts from me. =)
